

Inside April's Taste Club: An outstanding evening of food and cocktails at BIGFAN

On April 28, 2025, BIGFAN was host to an incredible Taste Club event. Mastercard, in partnership with Taste of Dublin, curated a tantalising one-off evening spotlighting Chinese cuisine, treating the lucky cardholders in attendance to an unforgettable springtime feast amid the restaurant's vibrant, fun-filled atmosphere.
The Taste Club series offers fans of fine food access to exclusive dining events at some of the Ireland's most exciting and innovative restaurants, where bespoke dishes, elevated libations, and unique surprises come together to create indelible memories for participants. Over the past five years, BIGFAN has established itself as a local legend. It burst onto Dublin's foodie scene in 2020 and has since developed an impressive culinary cachet, earning Michelin Guide recommendations every year since 2022. Part of the bustling hub of Aungier Street on the city's south side, BIGFAN is widely known and beloved for its cool, casual atmosphere and award-winning menu of classic and experimental Chinese small bites, large sharing dishes, and drinks with a twist.
At the recent April event, guests enjoyed five generous courses of flavour-punching Chinese cuisine. Dishes ranged from zesty Sichuan chilli pepper-poached octopus to plates highlighting scintillating Eastern flavours, including potstickers, halibut, and featherblade steak. Guests were served a delicate jasmine tea and white chocolate mousse to round out the evening.
The meal was thoughtfully paired with three specialty cocktails made with premium vodka from Absolut. Produced in Åhus, Sweden, for more than 100 years, Absolut creates vodka of impeccable quality, infusing knowledge and traditions passed down through generations of farmers and distillers.
